
Willibrord was an Anglo-Saxon monk, bishop, and missionary. He became the first Bishop of Utrecht in what is now the Netherlands, dying at Echternach in Luxembourg, and is known as the “Apostle to the Frisians”.
Willibrord was born near York, Northumbria, England, in 658 AD. He died in 739 AD, aged 81, in Echternach, Luxembourg. He is the Patron Saint of Luxembourg and the only Saint buried in Luxembourg.
His Feast Day is the 7th of November.
