The pursuit of collecting postcards and stamps featuring saints may be driven by a unique intersection of spiritual devotion, historical curiosity, and a fascination with the transformative power of the human spirit.
As far as I am concerned, for some reason, the lives of saints have always fascinated me. I was raised Catholic, but I do not practice. I do remember many saints’ stories I learned throughout my life when I attended church and catechism. I also enjoy the artistic aspect of collecting images of saints on stamps or postcards; most of the time, the work of masters is featured to represent these saints.
Additionally, there is the tradition of the calendar that features one or more saints for each day of the year. In Italy, your “name day“ (the day featuring the saint you are named after) is celebrated much like a birthday. I think it is a lovely tradition..
