Sunday Stamps: Cold Vacation Locations

“Stamps featuring cold vacation locations” is the theme for today’s Sunday Stamps

Nepal – 1982 Mt. Everest
Switzerland – 2024 Simmen region, likely near Zermatt, as suggested by the Matterhorn mountain in the background. Designed by Morgan Loer.
Austria – 1973 Landscapes of Austria, Almsee.
Almsee, sometimes Lake Alm, is a lake in Upper Austria’s part of the Salzkammergut in the Almtal valley. The Almsee is a splendor in every season and attracts numerous visitors. In winter, the frozen lake is a popular meeting place for ice skaters.

  1. I think you won the “cold” contest with those Nepal ones! (Although I did learn Canada is the coldest country in the world.)

  2. Love these mountains. Looking at any one of then does not make wish I could climb them – but the idea of skating on a lake within view of them would be my idea of a perfect way to spend a winter’s afternoon.

  3. Hard to imagine coldest places than Mount Everest! Although I don’t know what to think about it being a place to spend holidays 😀
