The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a famous steel arch bridge in Sydney, Australia, connecting the financial district to the North Shore. Opened on March 19, 1932, and nicknamed “The Coathanger”, it spans 1,149 meters (3,770 feet) and stands 134 meters (440 feet) above the water.
Imagine that Verona bridge, a portion of it, being the largest span! How far bridges have come since then. Too far… I dislike driving on large, long ones!
Those towers on the Italian bridge really draw your eye upwards. The lotus and other aquatic vegetation in the China card adds so much interest. And, of course, the iconic Sydney bridge…
I like how the tower and bridge harmonise in Verona. All the boats in Sydney harbour look peaceful. I love seeing the fireworks on the Harbour Bridge at New Year which always look spectacular (from the comfort of my settee I hasten to add, alas)
