Canada – 1973 Wilfrid Laurier.
Sir Henri Charles Wilfrid Laurier was the seventh prime minister of Canada from 1896 to 1911. The first French Canadian prime minister, his 15-year tenure remains the longest uninterrupted term of office among Canadian prime ministers, and his nearly 45 years of service in the House of Commons is a record for the House.
Canada – 1963 Sir Casimir Stanislaus Gzowski – 150th Birth Anniversary. .
Sir Casimir Stanislaus Gzowski, KCMG, was a Polish engineer who was known for his work on a wide variety of Canadian railways, as well as work on the Welland Canal. He also served as acting Lieutenant Governor of Ontario from 1896 to 1897.
Grenada – 1978 Alfred Nobel and Peace Medal. Alfred Nobel was a chemist, engineer, and inventor who established the Nobel Prizes, including one for medicine. He received an honorary doctorate but did not hold a formal medical degree. He was known for inventing dynamite and amassed wealth through explosives, later dedicating his fortune to recognizing achievements in science, literature, and peace.

USA – 1978 Carl Sandburg – Birth Centenary.
Carl August Sandburg was an American poet, biographer, journalist, and editor. He won three Pulitzer Prizes: two for his poetry and one for his biography of Abraham Lincoln.
China – 2000 Chen Yun, 100th birth anniversary/ A key leader of the Communist Party of China and a major architect of China’s economic policies.
India – 2016 Bal Gangadhar Tilak (1856-1920). – Series: Creators of India.
Tilak was one of the first and strongest advocates of Swaraj (‘self-rule’) and is known for his quote in Marathi: “Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it!”
India – 1978 Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, an influential philosopher, economist, and politician who served as the leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
Malaysia – 2025 Raja Sirajuddin Jamalullail of Perlis

Russia – 2026 Vladimir Volfovich Zhirinovsky was a Russian right-wing populist politician who served as the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia from its creation in 1992 until he died in 2022. Zhirinovsky served as a deputy chairman of the State Duma from 1993 to 2000 and from 2011 until 2022.
