Germany – 2013 Janosch – Easter (Series: 82nd Birth Anniversary of Horst Eckert). Janosch is the pen name of Horst Eckert, a German author and illustrator of children’s books. He then discovered his talent for writing stories and became a freelance artist. Janosch is best known for his 1978 children’s story The Trip to Panama, which won the German Children’s Literature Award in 1979. He has written and illustrated around 290 children’s books, published in nearly 70 languages, and sold more than 12 million copies.
