Canada – 2020 Abraham Lake. Abraham Lake, also known as Lake Abraham, is an artificial lake and Alberta’s largest reservoir. It is located in the “Kootenay Plains area of the Canadian Rockies’ front range”, on the North Saskatchewan River in western Alberta, Canada.
The salt pans brought back memories of my childhood! There were quite a few seen from the freeway near San Francisco, CA. I just looked them up, and while they are still there, they are not used for salt production anymore. There are still over 15,000 acres waiting for conversion to mud flats and tidal marshes.
