“Sharjah and its dependencies” refers to the Emirate of Sharjah and its distinct mainland exclaves: Kalba, Khor Fakkan, and Dibba Al-Hisn. These locations are physically separated from the main city of Sharjah and are situated on the country’s rugged eastern coast along the Gulf of Oman. Between (1963) and (1972\, the British-protected Trucial States issued a vast array of specialized, highly colorful postage stamps featuring global events and topics designed specifically for the international philatelic market. Many of these historic stamps were inscribed as “Sharjah & Dependencies” and recognized the regional authority of the exclaves at that time.
