Chengdu is the capital of southwestern China’s Sichuan province. Chengdu’s history dates back to at least the 4th century B.C., when it served as the capital for the Shu Kingdom. Artifacts from that dynasty are the focus of the Jinsha Site Museum. The city is also home to the renowned Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a conservation center where visitors can observe endangered giant pandas in their natural habitat.
Gulangyu Island is a pedestrian-only island located off the coast of Xiamen, China. It is known for its colonial architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Gulangyu is often referred to as “Piano Island” due to its rich musical heritage and the presence of the Piano Museum, which is the only one of its kind in China. The city of Xiamen, with its modern skyscrapers, is visible across the water from Gulangyu Island.
I like how there are lots of pandas visiting Chengdu, great card. I’ve never thought of there being piano museums, I feel a google search coming on. Nice contrasting card.

Gulangyu Island seems a very interesting place. The modern city on the background offers a deep contrast.
Thanks for the information, too. Sometimes I get postcards from China (through Postcrossing) with no clue about the picture on the front.

I usually try all I can to find info, either with Google Lens or by translating the characters on the postcards.
