“Colours of Autumn: Black” is this week’s theme for Thursday Postcard Hunt.
Postcards from USA

The National Gallery of Art, Washington
Magnum is the international cooperative photography agency founded in 1947 by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, George Rodger, and Chim (David Seymour); Gilles Peress has served twice as the organization’s president.

That bat is very “Halloween”!
The second postcard is a beautiful picture, but I canot help imagining a sad story behind.

Nice bat! The other is quite unique. Is there a story behind it?

I don’t know. I think it is a photographer’s photo.

Nicely lit bat. Evocative photo, so many questions… Not answered but I had to know who the photographer was. Its ‘Couple Dancing, France’ by the Magnum photographer Gilles Peress in 1970. (Thanks to The National Gallery of Art, Washington which may be in government shutdown but hurray for the ever open internet).
