Jamaica – 1971 Centenary of the Disestablishment of the Church of England in Jamaica. In 1870 after the disestablishment of the then Church of England in June of that year, the bishop of Jamaica, in a most significant action of the Church in upholding the integrity of it’s mission to the Black Jamaican population, delivered a blow to the root of white privilege, with the axe of ordination when the first black Jamaican, Thomas Banbury, was ordained at St John’s Church, Black River on September 4, as a deacon in the new dispensation..
USA – 1968 Thomas Jefferson was an American statesman, diplomat, lawyer, architect, philosopher, and Founding Father who served as the third president of the United States from 1801 to 1809. He was the primary author of the Declaration of Independence.
Japan – 2023 Jars Edo-Tokyo Series [The period from the early 1600s to the mid-1800s is known as the Edo Period, named after the city. Tokyo and Edo refer to the same geographical location, with Edo being the historical name of the city before it was renamed Tokyo in 1868]
Taiwan, China – 2022 Jade Ring from the Han dynasty.
Czech Republic – 2018 Czech Jazz – Heraldic Czech lion, wearing a jazzman’s beret and playing a saxophone.
That jazz stamp made me laugh! 😀
And I wonder if a jade ring is really useful…
