Radiolarians are small marine organisms that graze on phytoplankton and organic detritus in oceans. They have intricate siliceous shells, with the polycystine radiolarians being the ones that fossilize well and are commonly used in paleontological studies.

Wow, a narwhal and a swordfish! I always wonder how these things can swim without getting all tangled up (says she who is still tripping over my walking poles!). The radiolarian is a fascinating creature.
