….is the theme for today’s Sunday Stamps

The Rukun Negara is the Malaysian declaration of national philosophy instituted by royal proclamation on Merdeka Day, 1970, in reaction to a serious race riot known as the 13 May Incident, which occurred in 1969. The incident proved at that time that Malaysian racial balance and stability was fragile.

Those apps are very useful… But nothing beats a real postcard! Anyway, at least they include nice stamps.

I agree. I’ve never heard of those apps until now…..

At least the Canada app has an actual print of a proper stamp, not so here and no romance of a postcard journey either when they are generated in the UK rather than the country the sender is in. Free the postcard.
I like the Malaysian logo.

Those are a nice assortment of flags. I didn’t know about the app. I like “real” things, and don’t even read ebooks!
The “Malaysian declaration of national philosophy instituted by royal proclamation…” made me curious just how you can institute a philosophy by royal proclamation! Turns out it’s not something I’d like my country to institute! You can’t really proclaim people will believe in god and be loyal to a king! And “morality” is open to so much interpretation! It is a nice flag though!

As a Canadian, I didn’t know about this app… these prepaid cards can be bought at the Post Office for international destinations. They are postcards of stamps.

Fantastic stamps! That Malaysian stamp is fascinating, Marina! Thanks for sharing the background about the Rukun Negara. It’s a powerful reminder of the importance of national unity – especially considering the historical context you mentioned. The stamp itself is a great design, and the story behind it makes it even more significant.
