Anne Sullivan Macy was an American teacher best known for being the instructor and lifelong companion of Helen Keller.

Austria – 2020 Hedy Lamar – Austrian Inventions Frequency Hopping Process. Hedy Lamarr was an Austro-Hungarian-born American actress and inventor. She perfected a secure radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes during WWII. Hedy’s invention of radio frequency jumping technology was a vital step later on in the development of Wi-Fi.
USA – 1932 George Washington. George Washington was an American military officer, statesman, and Founding Father who served as the first president of the United States from 1789 to 1797.
Very interesting people on these stamps. Even someone I had never heard of (Khristo Stefanov Kabakchiev). It always surprises me when countries issue stamps apparently not connected with the territory. I guess it is also part of philatelic history.

I always wondered about that too. I thought that maybe they ran out of subjects to publish 😉. Or, maybe, they really admire those people …
