Kizhi – The Kizhi State Open-Air Museum of History, Architecture, and Ethnography in Russia is one of the first open-air museums of its kind, established in 1951. It is located on the island of Kizhi in Lake Onega. It features approximately 89 wooden structures, including churches, houses, windmills, and bell towers, all of which were preserved and relocated to the island from the Karelia region. The museum’s main attraction, the Kizhi Pogost ensemble, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990.

That chipmunk always makes me smile. And, more deer 🙂
I always think of Finland as green, but this view of Nurmes with brown foliage is just as attractive in its own way.
