Sunday Stamps: Warm Vacation Locations

“Stamps featuring warm vacation locations” is the theme for today’s Sunday Stamps

China – 1998 Hainan Special Economic Zone.
Hainan is an island province of China and the nation’s southernmost point. It’s known for its tropical climate, beach resorts, and forested, mountainous interior. It’s known as the “Hawaii of China,” a tropical island paradise where the Chinese middle class enjoys sandy beaches, five-star resorts, and duty-free luxury shopping.
France – 2023 Corse Du Sud. Corse-du-Sud is a department on the French island of Corsica. On its west coast, Scandola Nature Reserve has volcanic rocks and ospreys. In the city of Ajaccio, Maison Bonaparte was Napoleon’s family home. To the north are the pink-granite cliffs of Calanques de Piana. South is Filitosa archaeological site, with prehistoric statues. On Corsica’s southern tip is the clifftop town of Bonifacio and its medieval citadel.

  1. I love the pink granite of Corsica. I remember someone’s quip that it is ‘Scotland with good weather’.
