-Green Stone Trough

Postcard from Taiwan

The Laomei Green Stone Trough is located in Laomeili, Shimen District, New Taipei City. It was originally a volcanic reef left on the coast after the eruption of the Datun volcano. Due to long-term wave erosion, the soft parts were eroded, leaving a harder one. Part of it forms a vertical groove. It is a scenic spot in Taiwan. During April and May, algae cover the stone troughs in a vibrant green. The algae-covered rocks are very slippery and dangerous, so visitors should not walk on them.
