The Great Wall
The Shan-Shaan Guild Hall architectural complex in Shedian town of Sheqi county, Central China’s Henan province. The Shan-Shaan Guildhall was co-built by merchants from Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces who then lived in Sheqi county in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) in Shedian, a famous commercial township during the ancient Ming and Qing dynasties.

The Sakyamuni Pagoda of Fogong Temple of Ying County, Shanxi province, China, is a wooden Chinese pagoda. It is also known as the Wooden Pagoda of Ying County. The pagoda stands on a 4 m (13 ft) tall stone platform, has a 10 m (33 ft) tall steeple, and reaches a total height of 67.31 m (220.83 ft) tall; it is the oldest existent fully wooden pagoda still standing in China.

  1. Such wonderful “ancient” postcards! My favorite is Yosemite. It’s a piece of art! So is Yosemite, although I’ve not been in decades and I’m sure there are far more people there.

  2. You managed to find something from each of the examples! Shiva and Parvati make me think of siamese twins (though I know they are nothing like that!). I think it would be like seeing a mirage to find those rock formations in the desert – at least there would be some shade!

  5. Wow, Marina, your postcard spread for the Thursday Photo Hunt is amazing! It takes us on a whirlwind tour of ancient wonders across the globe! I’ve never seen any of those with my own eyes (except in postcards, of course) but in Cambodia we have ancient statues that have Hindu influences.
