Miriam Bos explains: “The snow globe that I made for PostNL’s December stamps project felt like the perfect subject to add to the final sheet. If there’s anything that reminds us of the holidays, it’s a snow globe. It gave me the perfect excuse to add a typical Dutch scene to the stamp designs. I chose the characteristic house facades you often find in older Dutch cities. From left to right, you see a stepped gable, a neck gable, a pointed gable, and a clock gable. They could be canal houses like the ones you’ll find when visiting Amsterdam, but I deliberately did not base them on any specific street.”

I really like the idea behind the Austrian stamps. I’ve been looing for the rest of the series… they are brilliant!
Snowglobes are like magic. I’ve never owned one, but they have always fascinated me. I think I didn’t get any of the USA snowglobes last year.

What a clever idea from Austria. Love snow globes but I haven’t seen any in real life for years, maybe I’m not visiting the right shops.

If you guys want to come visit, I have a small collection of snow globes for you to see. They don’t seem to be as abundant as in years past.
The Austrian is brilliant.
